Dr. Robinah Kaitiritimba
Executive Director of Uganda National Health Consumers’ Organization (UNHCO)
Robinah is a seasoned expert on the right to health and an authority on the Rights Based Approach (RBA) and Social Accountability in Uganda. She has had extensive training and practice in community engagement and lately under International Society for quality in Health Care (ISQUA) on patient cantered care for which patient and community engagement is a major component. As part of her work with WHO, she has also been author on WHO series on patient engagement. In practice, she has over 15 years representing patients’ voices at both community and at the national policy level-Health policy Advisory Committee (HPAC) of the Ministry of Health Uganda.

Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng
Ministry Of Health
is a Ugandan pediatrician and politician. She is the Minister of Health in the Cabinet of Uganda. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. Before that, from June 2011 until June 2016, she served as the Director General of Medical Services in the Ugandan Ministry of Health

Experiences
As a Patient Safety Champion for afro- region under the World Health Organisation (WHO) Patient Safety Programme, she has served on several WHO expert Panels including Child Obesity, Injection Safety, surgical site infection, board for African Partnership for community patients’ safety of the WHO among others.

She is a member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of
Makerere University School of Public Health representing the
community and an advocacy partner for implementing the Policy
Engagement for Evidence based Decision (SPEED) on universal
health coverage in Uganda with Makerere School of public health;
member of Uganda National Council for Science and Technology –
National Bio-Safety committee. -
Her positions of responsibility include, member of the National
Quality improvement committee of the ministry of health, Saving
New-Borns Steering Committee, Supervision, Monitoring,
Evaluation and Research Technical Working Group (SMER TWG),
RMNCAH committee and was part of the task force that developed
the Public Private Partnership in Health (PPPH) policy and the
Health Sector Strategic Investment Plan (HSSIP).
Expected Outcomes
- Test & Treat Initiative: Official launch & introduction; for Early Cancer Prevention, Detection, diagnosis, and linkage to care for successful treatment
- Close the cancer Care Gap: Delivering commitment and creating synergies across countries, governments, and partners
- Amplifying stakeholders’ voices to apply the principles of meaningful & sustainable engagement & participation of all in cancer control programs
- Improved quality in cancer research, surveillance & innovations
- Realization of avenues for affordable & accessible cancer detection, diagnosis, treatment, and Palliative Care services
- Increased access to cancer screening, testing, and diagnostic supplies across all levels of care
